The Kissing Hand

Finding ways to comfort my little ones during big transitions can be challenging, but The Kissing Hand has quickly become a favorite in our home. This interactive book app, featuring Chester Raccoon and his loving mother, offers a sweet and soothing story that has made easing school-related anxieties much easier for us.

The story is incredibly heartwarming. Chester’s mother shares a touching family secret—the “kissing hand”—that helps him feel safe and loved, even when they’re apart. The message is so powerful, and it’s no surprise that this book has become a New York Times #1 bestseller and a cherished classic in children’s literature.

One of the things I love most about this app is how interactive it is. My child enjoys exploring the pictures and learning new vocabulary as we read together. With three different ways to experience the story—reading it ourselves, listening to it being read, or interacting with the story—it’s easy to find the perfect way to engage with it depending on our mood.

The illustrations are lovely, and the gentle, reassuring tone of the story has made it a go-to bedtime read. It’s more than just a book; it’s become a comforting ritual that helps my child feel connected to me, even when we’re apart during the day.

The kissing Hand

For any parent dealing with first-day-of-school jitters or any separation anxiety, I highly recommend The Kissing Hand app. It’s a beautiful way to reassure your child and share a special moment together.

Parent review

My boys and I have been reading this book together for years. Even though they are older now, I still appreciate how it helped me explain school to the boys and how I would always be there for them. It has been extremely helpful during stressful events to have this book and it’s idea to fall back on. The app just makes it that much easier to access when we need it. Wonderful Book
